Good to know:
If you do not have the ingredients or time for the icing, you can also eat the cake without the icing. Keep in mind though, that the icing makes these cakes even better.
Preheat oven to 190C
Cover the baking tin in butter
Mix butter, sugar, flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon together in a bowl with an electric mixer. It should look like fine crumbs.
Beat the eggs in a separate bowl together with the milk and mix it well. Pour it slowly into the cake batter and mix until the batter is smooth.
Peel the apples and cut them in small pieces (1 cm x 1 cm). There should be around 200 g. of apple. Mix the apples and walnuts into the cake batter and pour the batter into the cake tin.
Bake the cake in the oven for around 30 minutes or until a cake skewer inserted in the middle of the cake comes out clean. Take the cake out, let it cool down a little before it’s turned out of the tin and onto a baking rack to cool completely.
Make icing: Mix the butter with the icing sugar in a bowl with an electric mixer until there are no big lumps. Add the cream cheese and beat until the icing is smooth, soft and airy.
When the cake is completely cooled down, it’s decorated with the icing. Sprinkle with cinnamon.
