  • 20 Slices Bread
  • Butter
  • 150g Ham (you can choose chicken-ham for non-pork requirements)
  • 4 pieces Tomato (sliced)
  • 300g Cheese (sliced)

  • Jam (for Vegans you can have other spreads for the bread)

  • Oven plates
  • Knives
  • Baking paper

Good to know:

  • You can prepare the breads in advance and put them in the oven 20 minutes prior to lunch or dinner
  • To stay warm you can leave them in the oven at 50C

Left overs:

  • You can use leftovers as snacks for later in the day

Other interesting facts:

During the Middle Ages, thick slabs of coarse bread called "tranches" (late 15th century French) or, in its English derivative, "trenchers", were used as plates. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open_sandwich)
